Job Description

A sizable food retail and manufacturer is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Food Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in the Mainland China market. As the Head of Sales for China, you will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy to drive growth and profitability for food product portfolio across China region. This is a critical leadership role that will work closely with the HK and China management team to align sales goals with the overall business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to expand distribution and grow market share for our food products in China
  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team, providing coaching, training, and motivation to achieve sales targets
  • Cultivate strong relationships with distribution channel / key customers, including national retail chains, key accounts, distributors and wholesalers.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new sales opportunities
  • Collaborate with the marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure alignment across the business
  • Analyze sales data and metrics to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions
  • Represent the company and build the brand’s reputation with external stakeholders and participate in activities that may help to market penetration.
  • Regularly visit customers and perform site visits to understand market trend.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in food/CPG sales, with at least 5 years in China FMCG industry.
  • Proven track record of delivering strong sales results and exceeding targets in the China market
  • In-depth understanding of the China food retail and distribution landscape, including key channels, competitors, and industry dynamics
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese and English; ability to navigate cultural nuances
