Senior Accounting Manager,
Job Description
A dynamic and reputable listed company operating in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), trading, and manufacturing industries has a new opening in the Accounting team.
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Accounting Manager to oversee the financial accounting operations and manage General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams across different business units. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in people management, industry exposure to FMCG, manufacturing, retail and trading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the financial accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Lead and supervise the AR and AP teams, providing guidance and support to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Oversee the issuance, amendment, and cancellation of Letters of Credit (L/C).
- Manage trade loan applications, disbursements, and repayments.
- Liaise with banks, suppliers, and internal departments to facilitate trade transactions.
- Maintain good relationship with banks and manage multiple bank accounts.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and control.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for business decision-making.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA is an advantage but not a must.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in people management and team leadership (preferably with team size over 8ppl).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Industry exposure to manufacturing, retail and trading is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
