Job Description

Our client is a market leader in food trading business, they are inviting a high caliber to lead their merchandising team. As a Merchandising Head, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of food brands, driving growth through product innovation, inventory optimization, and strong stakeholder collaboration.

Duties:

  • Develop merchandising plan to optimize sales and profit. Lead portfolio management by identifying new product opportunities and ensuring the right pricing strategy and effective inventory control.
  • Negotiate and manage trading terms with vendors and business partners to secure favorable agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with brand stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of merchandising and promotional initiatives.
  • Align vendor expectations with sales strategies, facilitating clear communication and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise the merchandising team to ensure excellence in supply chain and product management, covering pricing, production capacity, shipment schedules, and stock levels to sustain business competitiveness.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, working closely with sales teams to drive revenue growth and improve profit margins.
  • Align with marketing team to strategize marketing and promotional campaign for all channels.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of supplier management experience in FMCG (food product focus) or retail industries.
  • Prior exposure to food industry sales, purchasing, Merchandising or business development is advantageous. Experience in China merchandising and sales is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with resilience under pressure.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua
